Using a parked domain with your Host Gator account is easy and only takes a minute to set up. Parked domains are great for those times when you don’t have a site built yet, but still want to get the URL online.

To add a parked domain in your HostGator web hosting account, simply follow these steps:

Login and click “Parked Domains”
Next to “New Domain Name”, enter the domain name that you want to park on top of your primary domain
Click “Add Domain”

As you can see, adding and managing a parked domain at HostGator is extremely simple to do. Once you’ve completed the steps above, you should see the primary domain’s content and the parked domain’s URL in the browser address bar.

Purchase a Domain Name from HostGator?

If you purchased a domain name from HostGator but aren’t sure how to go about logging in, follow these steps…

Step 1 - Visit http://www.hostgator.com/domains

Step 2 - Enter your domain name and password, then login

Step 3 - If you don’t know your domain password, send an email to support@hostgator.com

Keep in mind that it may take 24-48 hours for your domain name to propagate.

If you’re coming over to HostGator from another web hosting company, HostGator will transfer your domain, files, databases, and scripts for free.

To transfer your domains to your HostGator hosting account, do the following:

Go to http://www.hostgator.com/domains
Scroll to “transfer”
Verify that your email address is correct
Make sure that your domain name is unlocked

Domain transfers to a HostGator account typically take 4-5 days to complete.
