  1. Certain FTP software programs may require you to enter a path in order to connect, such as /home/YOURUSERNAME/public_html
  2. Are you using the IP address that arrived in your welcome email? Use only the numbers, don’t add ftp, www, etc.
  3. Are you behind a firewall? If so, it could be blocking your connection.
  4. Be sure to use the same username and password as used for your control panel.
