How to Downgrade a HostGator Hosting Account

Downgrading a HostGator web hosting account is a quick and easy process, and is usually done the same day a request is processed. The bad news however, is that unlike the free Host Gator account upgrade process, a downgrade results in a one-time $10 charge.

To downgrade a HostGator hosting account, simply send an email to HostGator’s customer support staff at support@hostgator.com. You’ll need to provide them with your primary domain name, username, password, current hosting plan, and desired hosting plan.
